Bonaire is a small island, and everybody knows everybody. The people you meet — from the clerk at the government office to the neighbor on your street — shape your daily life. Building relationships is not optional here; it is how you survive.

Each NPC on Bonaire has a role, a daily schedule, and a personality. Some are always helpful (like Clerk Maria, who processes your permits), while others may test your patience or your wallet. Treat them well and they will return the favor.

Walk up to any NPC and interact — they will greet you based on your reputation. Some NPCs offer services (permits, jobs, rides, goods). Others trigger encounters (conversations with choices that affect your fame, shame, money, and energy). Pay attention to their mood — a pleased NPC offers better deals.

Each NPC has a portrait that changes with their mood. A neutral face means business as usual. Wide eyes mean they are pleased with you. A scowl... well, you know what that means.
